The NGO has pledges to reduce poverty, educate the local populace about HIV/AIDS, improving the lives of the CHILDREN in community by providing safe environment for the orphaned and vulnerable children in remote areas. Particular emphasis will be placed on caring for OVC, a population group recognized as neglected. At this point, the organization has also planned to expand its scope of work to include an array of services and activities geared toward improving the lives of OVC. We have a strong conviction that where possible, the children should be place in a family environment where they will be shown affection. This will make them holistic individuals as they grow up.
Guiding Philosophy
In meeting our goals and objectives, and creating a replicable model for serving children in need, our programs shall be driven by values. The project model adopts a community-focused and community owned approach. This is demonstrated in the following core values, which outline several commitments to the community, namely;
Management embarks on outreach programmes such as routine visits to families and awareness campaigns.
Selected community people (regardless of HIV status or disability) are involved in the running of the project.
The local community guides service delivery, monitoring, and evaluation.
A safe, caring and loving environment for children (regardless of HIV status or disability), who are vulnerable, orphaned or abandoned.
Physical and spiritual health and well-being of the OVC.
Partnerships with key stakeholders and other organizations with understanding that such partnerships with contribute to achieving the VISION and MISSION of the organization.
That it stays current on and implementing best practices related to childcare and helping children of trauma.
Environmental sustainability and where ever possible will seek out solutions that reduce or minimize environmental impact.
